ABSTRACT

In modern practice the problems of aircraft production take on a new character in an ever-changing geopolitical situation in the world. The aviation industry is one of the most promising trends for the national high-tech production development. It requires special attention, as it is the potential source of a qualitatively new economic growth of countries in general and Russia in particular. In this research, the authors designated civil aircraft specific production issues, which have, from the authors’ point of view, the major influence on the industry product competitiveness for the aircraft factory. The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze domestic and international experience in supply chain management of the aviation industry to enhance the competitiveness of aircraft factory products. A case study was applied at the aircraft in order to propose a method of selecting suppliers for improving the quality and competitiveness of the industry product. Based on undertaken analysis, the authors designated specific areas of strategy implementation for the supply chain management when entering new markets with products of aircraft concern. According to current situation at aviation industry, strategic scenario of quality management improvement with the priority of supply chain management processes is proposed after aircrafts’ mass production launch at aircraft concern.

ABSTRACT

The paper is devoted to a new formal approach to logistics service development optimization in the wholesale business. Logistics service development is required to choose strategic direction of customer service in logistics, to identify key performance indicators of its implementation, and ultimately to make a choice of logistics services package. To solve these problems taking into account the preferences of decision-maker, it is suggested to use the analytic hierarchy process (AHP).

It is a first time that AHP has been employed several times within an optimization model: the approach worked-out consists of two stages. The first stage determines an optimal set of key performance indicators to control the strategic direction of logistics under consideration. The second stage identifies an optimal logistics services package taking into account its impact on the key indicators selected at the first stage.

The approach application is exemplified by a wholesaler that supplies foreign components to domestic manufacturers. Numerical solutions of AHP are shown in the article. The data for calculations are taken from statistical reports of the company at hand

ABSTRACT

The technological solutions for the horizontal transshipment of non-liftable semi-trailers allow the decision makers in the transport market to consider an additional transport alternative to road transportation in the mode choice decision: combined transport. This paper describes the status of the development of the combined transport of the non-cranable semi-trailers via horizontal transshipment solutions in Europe compared with Russia, where a lower market penetration ratio is registered. The prospects for the development of the combined transport with the horizontal transshipment technologiesin the Russian market as well as the major obstacles are presented. The significant market potential for the combined transport of the semi-trailers in Russia is observed. The results can be used as a decision support by government officials for the configuration of their specific transport policies as well as by logistics service providers to adjust their technology investment decisions.

ABSTRACT

The article deals with the problems of transport and logistics infrastructure development caused by the change of technology platforms, generations of equipment and technologies in the historic perspective. The main characteristics of the infrastructure and the rolling stock of the various modes of transport - rail, road, water – are explored. It is shown that modern trends in transport infrastructure are associated not only with the technological peculiarities and the change of generations of technology, but also with use of logistics principles. These principles require a comprehensive approach infrastructure design what particularly come to the logistics centers creation.
