ABSTRACT

In the logging process, it is possible to build a technological chain in various ways. When transporting wood from the cutting area, water or land transport can be used. The use of forest warehouses and the processing of wood on them also increase the number of different configurations of logistics channels. Performing operations in different natural production conditions differs in productivity and material costs. The efficiency of production depends on the choice of logging technology in dynamic natural production conditions. In previous publications the authors presented a graphic-analytical model and method to solve the problem. The proposed mathematical dependencies allow us to search for the maximum material flow of the minimum cost in the logistics network of the enterprise. In addition to the dynamic component, the method differs by considering the income of the enterprise from the sale of commodity products. The purpose of this study is to use this technique to improve the logistics network of logging enterprises, considering the complex of transport, loading and unloading and processing operations in dynamic natural production conditions. The solution of the considered problem is based on the algorithm for determining the flow of minimum cost in a transport network Bascara of Gowan. It is modified because when the flow passes through any of the arcs, the throughput of arcs that reflect similar operations in the same period decreases. This considers the reduced productivity of machines and equipment involved in different parts of the logistics network. The given minimum cost flow found in this way is optimal if there are no negative cycles in the network with modified arc costs. The presented studies consider a numerical example of solving this problem for the conditions of the Krasnoyarsk territory. The numerical example showed the efficiency of the method of finding a rational logistics channel for logging operations in dynamic natural production conditions.

ABSTRACT

The introduction of online commerce changed the business models of formerly pure stationary retailers by introducing new sales and logistics channels. In the light of increasing customer requirements, increasing competition and cost pressure, retail companies are trying to link all channels synergistically under the concept of «omni-channel retail», which promises
a seamless shopping experience and is intended to exploit cost-cutting potential. This represents new challenges for logistics, as connected service concepts are difficult to reconcile with the existing infrastructure. It is uncertain what logistics actually has to do to satisfy the customer and how this can be done as efficiently as possible. This paper develops a theoretical model which enables a qualitative description and analysis of an omni-channel logistics system and applies it to the case study of a large German retail company. Managers can find valuable suggestions on how to analyze their own logistics system. Researchers can further deepen the model described to generate further research work and results.

ABSTRACT

The article is devoted to the formation of a management model of the logistics system of a mining enterprise – the focal company of the supply chain. To ensure its activities, a mining company forms a complex structure – the supply chain, representing a set of organizations creating additional customer value, interacting with the movement of material and other related flows from the source of raw materials to the final consumer. Supply chain management activities include integrative behavior of a focal company aimed at its customers and suppliers. The efficiency of the entire supply chain depends primarily on the effectiveness of the activities of its main link – the logistics system of the focal company of the supply chain.
To solve this problem, the author proposed a conceptual approach based on system analysis to form a model for managing the logistics system of the focal company of the supply chain.
The proposed approach specifies the purpose of the logistics system, conditions and methods for achieving it, the necessary resources, business processes, qualitative parameters to evaluate the effectiveness of managing the logistics system and its subsystems. The need to adapt the proposed model of management of the logistics system to the specific conditions of a mining enterprise activity affecting the mechanism of management of logistics flows is justified.
The author has developed a technique for quantitative assessment of the properties of the logistics system, as well as indicators for the operational control and evaluation of the management efficiency of the mining company’s logistics system.

ABSTRACT

Among logistic management issues nowadays the most urgent one is the problem of method choice for assessing supply chain efficiency performance indexes. Mostly, that could be explained by fragmented nature of conducted research works among Russian and foreign experts.   Herewith the lapse of any united analytical and methodological basis for conducting calculations complicates the efficiency assessment task and deprives it of almost any economic sense, because, in our opinion, application of comparing methods or just orientation to an «ideal» performance in the industry do not fully correlate with criteria of accuracy and adequacy of numeric examples.

The paper contains analysis of the leading research works devoted to the problem of developing efficiency assessment methods for supply chains; proposes ways of developing existing approaches considering analytical models and methods; provides sample calculations.

ABSTRACT

Transport efficiency assessment today is an important issue of modern logistics management. According to the summarizing of different literature sources, transportation occupies the biggest part of total logistics costs.  The challenge of designing efficiency transportation indices deserves special attention. Hereby some questions still need consideration, such as what an assessment system should look like? What issues should be considered while conducting analysis of transportation activity? Is there any complex of assessment indices that could be proposed? The article attempts to answer all these and other questions of logistics management based on works of Russian and foreign researchers. The article will be useful for scientists and specialists dealing with efficiency assessment issues

ABSTRACT

The present article describes a study that examines logistics performance evaluation through international rating systems as an instrument of benchmarking analysis. The primary aim of the proposed study is to find the most appropriate way to evaluate logistics performance efficiency minimizing subjunctive data impact on the result.  In other words there would be regression models to explain logistics performance efficiency level according to LPI rank and macroeconomic indicators interconnection.

ABSTRACT

In the article the questions of the efficiency of supply chains and the analysis of the market of transport and logistics services and the volume of outsourcing them. Considered in detail the technical equipment of the individual elements of transport and logistics infrastructure of the supply chain. The concept of technological discontinuities between elements of transport and logistics infrastructure of the supply chain and pre-assessed their level. Under consideration, the impact of technological discontinuities on a commercial speed of delivery of goods in supply chains and transportation costs for rail, road, inland waterway, Maritime and air transport. Also examined trends in the development of services warehouse operators. The examples of the existing terms of delivery of goods in international supply chains.
