ABSTRACT

 The method of numerical simulation is used to study the effect of parameters of a simple discrete flow of inventory through a logistic three-level distribution system, as well as the parameters of the system itself, on the universal characteristics of its efficiency — relative levels of current stocks in the system and deficit indicators for end users. By flow parameters we mean the level of its power and its variation; under the system parameters - the type of applied inventory management (IM) model and the speed of reaction to the requirements for the supply of the next batch of inventory. The flow of consumer requirements arriving at the lower level of the system and causing inventory movement through the system corresponds to the Poisson law. Four basic ultrasound models IM are tested, and in each case the same model is used at all levels of the system. As a result, we obtained the corresponding number (total - 66, given in article - 22) of the experimental dependences and the regression equations adequate to them. Their brief interpretation is given from the point of economic aspects of distribution logistics. Conclusions are drawn regarding the nature of the use of the identified dependencies and the directions for further research on this issue. The study (its object and applied technologies) is not strictly tied to either a specific area of logistics (trade, industry, logistics services, etc.), or to the hierarchical level of the object of modeling (industry, distribution company, a single-plant enterprise, a production association, a large production unit, etc.).

ABSTRACT

 The relevance of the considered the author of the theme is that during development of the project developer focuses on the optimization of financial indicators: Bank discount rate the interest cost on the value of the construction and subsequent delivery, such as for rent, but few says and examines optimizing space-planning decisions of the warehouse, engineering networks and constructions.
In this context, this article deals with the topic of the impact of the presence or absence of a mezzanine on
the financial model of the project as a whole.

In the practice of designing and building modern warehouses building adopted Gables above the dokovymi zones (zones of loading and unloading). At the same time, never discusses how mezzanine affect: the cost of construction and financials.

 

Author, firstly, considers what mezzanines can be found in warehouses, secondly, on the example of one project is considering several options for the financial model of the project: mezzanine floor and without mezzanine:
1) Project budget:
- Purchase of land;
- Pre-project stage;
- Design stage;
- Construction costs;
- Costs for the Organization and management of the project;
- Reserve for unforeseen expenses.
2) Projected financial results of the project:
- Discount rate;
- Payback period-PB;
- Discounted payback period-the DPB;
- The average rate of return-ARR;
- Net income-cited NPV;
- Profitability index-PI;
- Internal rate of return-IRR;
- Modified internal rate of return-MIRR.
Research methodology is based on one project developer with the processing results by using AUTOCAD and the calculation of financial models using the Project Expert.
On the basis of the carried out researches the author makes the following findings:
1) Total construction cost of 1 sq.m. in stock without mezzanine is slightly higher. This can be explained by the fact that the relative cost, for example, the land remained the same as in option with a mezzanine, and reducing other costs not offset the decrease in the total area of the warehouse.
2) Despite the fact that the cost of construction of a warehouse without mezzanine is cheaper, but reducing the total area of the warehouse have not resulted in improved financial performance. Increased the payback period, though not significantly decreased net income shown in the reporting period.

ABSTRACT

 Transport efficiency assessment today is an important issue of modern logistics management. According to the summarizing of different literature sources, transportation occupies the biggest part of total logistics costs.  The challenge of designing efficiency transportation indices deserves special attention. Hereby some questions still need consideration, such as what an assessment system should look like? What issues should be considered while conducting analysis of transportation activity? Is there any complex of assessment indices that could be proposed? The article attempts to answer all these and other questions of logistics management based on works of Russian and foreign researchers. The article will be useful for scientists and specialists dealing with efficiency assessment issues

ABSTRACT

As the analysis of logistics market has shown companies strive to improve their efficiency under the conditions of modern economic activity, which requires, at the stage of planning, to form the system of indicators that will allow to compare the current and planned values of performance indices. This calls for a serious analytical model that will allow to assess the impact of specific actions on the resulting business performance. However, most literature sources suggest assessment methods based on the comparison with either average values (e.g., average order picking time, average trip speed, average trip length, average time of storage unit handling, etc.), or with the ‘best practices’. This obviously leads to a wide data diversity that does not allow to conduct an accurate assessment of specific supply chain units.  Therefore, according to the authors, under the modern market conditions, it is advisable to focus on the formation of an individualized system of performance indicators for each specific company. Thus we can talk not just about supposed performance indicators modelling, but about certain performance indices of a particular company. The article presents an approach with a specified system of equations enabling to do calculations and individualize indicators instead of using average values. Along with this the equation system can be extended and complemented considering the specifics of a particular company. Thus, the assessment is based on analytical models, which allows to get to a new level of planning and supply chain performance assessment.
