ABSTRACT

The article reveals approaches to risk management in railway customer service by creating horizontal cooperation based on the use of an electronic trading platform. The purpose of the article is to improve the efficiency of railway operators and the quality of their services. The article presents the main reasons for failures in the process of forecasting logistics activities and ways to minimize them. The authors of the article describe the algorithm of the electronic trading platform and simulate the economic effect of its implementation.

ABSTRACT

As the e-commerce market develops it has been gradually consolidating. More and more e-marketplaces appear over time. They unite a number of internet-retailers, significant part of which is represented by small and medium enterprises. Active growth of e-marketplaces poses new challenges for the e-commerce logistics. Great number of parties (both consumers and sellers), constantly growing assortment range, different models of interaction with suppliers, in combination with ongoing geographical expansion, have been considerably complicating e-marketplaces logistics support.
The author of the paper suggests the classification of e-marketplaces, conducts comparative analysis of the biggest electronic retail platforms operating in Russia, studies typical issues of their logistics activity, examines the opportunity of the horizontal collaboration mechanism's application to tackle some of these problems. By applying the methods of comparative analysis, classification, analogy, as well as the methods of horizontal collaboration, the author has gained the following results:
1. Defined the factors influencing complex nature of the e-marketplaces logistics compared to the logistics activity of pure internet retailers
2. Formulated conditions under which horizontal collaboration at the e-marketplaces can be used in the efficient and effective way
3. Proposed options for the distribution of the groups of functions between the participants of the horizontal collaboration project (internet retailers, marketing intermediaries specialized in introducing products to different virtual platforms, e-marketplace, logistics service providers, banks and/or fintech companies, project curator ensuring the parties interaction)
4. Suggested application of the Shapley vector method to share the gains of the e-marketplace's sellers collaboration.

ABSTRACT

Worsening of the macroeconomic conditions as well as tougher rivalry make companies’ management look for additional means of
raising the business competitiveness. In such a situation, managers start to draw their attention to the logistics efficiency along with
the quality of material flow management in supply chains. Horizontal collaboration constitutes one of the ways to increase logistics efficiency and effectiveness which is currently underused by the Russian companies. The article focuses on the essence of the notion «horizontal collaboration», its typology, and benefits that such a cooperation can bring to the organizations of various business forms. The authors examine foreign business cases proving that horizontal collaboration helps to decrease operation costs, raise the quality of the customer service, provide more flexible reaction on the clients’ demand, reduce carbon footprint as a result of doubling delivery elimination and diminution of deadheading. Apart from advantages of horizontal collaboration, the article dwells on the main
obstacles to its implementation. The authors pay specific attention to the issue of gain sharing. The paper scrutinizes major requirements for stable and fair gains allocation based on the application of the game theory methods. Requirements in question include efficiency, symmetry (anonymity), compliance with the «dummy» rule, strong monotonicity, individual rationality. Different methods of gain
sharing are thoroughly reviewed and compared. Comparative analysis shows that gains allocation following Shapley value method
meets all the requirements for stable and fair distribution. As a result, this method can be recommended as the basic one in the horizontal collaboration projects.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to focus on theoretical and methodological aspects of horizontal cooperation in transportation. The relevance of the study is related to the search of additional sources for cost reduction in today's Russian economy, characterized by declining GDP and high inflation. Raw materials price rise, on the one hand, and the decline in real incomes, on the other, poses a problem of efficiency increase to the producers. According to the author, one of the most promising methods to reduce logistics costs in the current economic environment is horizontal cooperation. The paper proposes a simplified scheme of the feasibility evaluation of horizontal cooperation in transportation at the design stage.Based on modeling in Mathcad the author analyzes the feasibility of cooperation for each participant. The article also proposes a scheme, which is one of the possible variants of participants interaction in terms of horizontal cooperation. In concluding, the author suggests further development of the proposed methods of evaluating the feasibility of horizontal cooperation in transportation and the scheme of interaction of all participants.
