ABSTRACT

 The content of the concept of supply chain ensuring transparency, currently attracting middle and senior managers' attention in a wide range of companies and industries, is disclosed. The article provides analysis of the reasons for the increased interest in the issues of transparency in supply chains, in particular: pressure from the government, consumers, nongovernmental organizations, etc. on the management of focus companies, to open more information about their supply chains. It has been shown that the reputational costs associated with not meeting these requirements can be very high. The article explains the meaning of supply chain transparency and provides guidelines and methodology for mapping and expanding progress in understanding SC-Transparency. The analysis is based on overseas DRM experience shared by dozens of companies in all industries of all sizes over the past decade with consistent advances in DRM. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the experience of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – an initiative founded at the MIT Transport and Logistics Center; research by Sourcemap, a provider of supply chain transparency solutions; and research in this area by leading experts and analysts

Problems of terminology of logistics both in the general plan, and in a context of application of terms and developments of a conceptual framework to objects of logistic infrastructure, in particular are considered: to the logistic centers, terminals, warehouses, etc. The critical analysis of a conceptual framework of the modern logistics presented in the Russian textbooks and manuals is given.

ABSTRACT

The article addresses the issue of logistic terminology used in transport development strategies and programs in Russia. The analysis of 20 sources of the kind shows that whilst the number of logistic terms used increases it is not always done systematically and correctly enough. The unification of the logistic terminology is indicated to be the important scientific task.

ABSTRACT

In this article the author dwells on the issue of the English language as a universal tool of professional communication. The author provides data on a leading position of English and of its role for business. To show the important role of English in logistics, the article answers the following questions: what the number of main academic terms in logistics is, how they are distributed by logistics spheres, what terms are most used, what fields logistics is connected with, how many terms logistics adopted from other fields of knowledge, whether logistic terms follow the requirements of an ideal term. The study was conducted by a lingual-statistical method of an English logistics dictionary and authentic texts. The author prompts a conclusion that English skills in logistics are the key to business success.

ABSTRACT

The article discusses the theoretical and terminological aspects of the resilience of supply chains. The basic stages of formation of sustainable supply chain management and supply chain resilience, their relationship with each other. The authors identify and analyze the main elements of the resilience of supply chains. The analysis shows the absence of a common terminology and approaches to supply chain resilience. As a basis to ensure the resilience of supply chains are invited to consider Tripple-A-approach, which includes elements such as agility, adaptability and alignment. The authors proposed a decomposition of each of these three elements, highlighted directions of achieving them.
