ABSTRACT

This article is a continuation of the series of articles devoted to the creation of industry-specific practical methodology of supply chain planning of industrial enterprises (case of iron and steel complexes).

The article studies the process of tactical supply chains planning of metallurgical companies. Based on the analysis of SCOR and GSCF processes, the following is proposed: improved process of tactical supply chains planning; the algorithm of optimal balancing of supply and demand in supply chains of industrial enterprises determined on the basis of the interactive layer-by-layer optimization method allowing to reserve logistic capacities for priority orders and to carry out the optimal distribution of the remaining capacities between other orders.

Scientific survey is based on fundamental and applied developments of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of economic theory, management theory, logistics theory and supply chain management, methods of mathematical modeling, business process modeling methodology, system analysis, operations research and expert evaluation methods.

As a result, the study reveals the shortcomings of tactical supply chain planning description in SCOR and GSCF; and proposes an improved process and method of tactical planning.

MAGAZINE №1 (72) February 2016

AUTHOR  SOLODOVNIKOV V.V.

CATEGORY   Planning the supply chain

ABSTRACT

The paper analyses the demand planning process from supply chain management perspective. The place of the analyzed process in SCOR and GSCF models is investigated. Main steps of the process are clarified: analysis and preparation of historical data; statistical forecasting; manual expert correction of the forecast; forecast verification and confirmation; quality monitoring of forecast and process. Approaches to process data organization are investigated; terminology in this area is presented. The key forecasting methods are analyzed including: qualitative/subjective, cause and effect, time series. Key forecasting models for demand planning in supply chains are systemized. The importance of the quality monitoring of forecasts is highlighted. Main methods of determination of exceptional situations are presented. Key requirements for informational systems of demand planning are formalized. Overview of popular software tools for demand planning is presented.
