ABSTRACT

Multimodal transportation is an independent type of transport business. It is often used in the oil export. Due to the geographical location of the regions of production and consumption, more than 97% of all exported oil in the world is delivered via sea and pipeline transport.
The problem of using pipeline and sea transport is very relevant for our country as one of the main exporters of oil in the world. The paper presents studies examining various approaches to analyzing multimodal transportation. Solutions to some problems of multimodal oil deliveries are shown in the paper. One of the significant achievements of the modern domestic system of oil transportation is the transport system for exporting domestic oil to the promising markets of Asian countries.
The ESPO oil is a well-known grade of oil on the energy market. To transport this oil ESPO-1 and 2 oil pipelines were build. The structure of ESPO-2 includes oil port terminal. After leaving pipeline segment of transportation oil is delivered to the consumers by tankers. Transportation costs associated with long distance delivery have significant impact on the oil price
market for the consumers. This paper presents methodology for calculating the cost of multimodal oil transportation as well as the example costs calculations for the pipeline and maritime transportation segments. The article shows that costs associated with the pipeline transportation segment have significant impact on the total costs of multimodal transportation of
oil.
