Dear readers!

The issue of our magazine you hold in your hands is dedicated to a very important event: the 15th anniversary of the International Centre of Training in Logistics (hereafter - the ICTL) at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (hereafter - the HSE) is in April, 2015. The ICTL is highly estimated abroad, and it is a recognized leader among educational centers in the Russian Federation for further education in the field of logistics and supply chain management. We are very pleased to note this fact as the ICTL at the HSE has contributed a lot to the establishment and development of our magazine. We warmly congratulate the International Centre of Training in Logistics at the HSE on 15th anniversary. A special section “National School of Logistics” was introduced in this issue of magazine, where President of the ICTL, Dr.sc.oec, Professor Victor Sergeev and Director of the ICTL, Dr.sc.oec, Professor Valentina Dybskaya point out the contribution of the Centre to the development of a new scientific field “Logistics and Supply Chain Management” and to the elaboration of three generations of state educational standards of higher professional education in these areas of training for the country’s economy. |
The reader of the article “The role of ILC HSE in the formation of the national school of logistics” will be interested by the authoritative representation of leading professors and experts of the Faculty of Logistics and the ICTL at the HSE in such prestigious international organizations as the European Logistics Association (ELA), the European Certification Board for Logistics (ECBL), the International Supply Chain Council (SCC), the International Association for Operations Management (APICS), the International Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CPSCM). We hope that this article is the preparation of more vast work on the subject, the work which will be transformed in the monograph.
The section “Effective Supply chains” is quite broad in this issue of the magazine.
The article of Dr.sc.oec., Professor of the Department of Logistics Infrastructure Management at the HSE Anatoliy Fedorenko, “The impact of technological gaps on the supply chains efficiency”, considers the technical equipment of individual elements of transport and logistics infrastructure and its impact on the problem of the effectiveness of supply chains as a whole. It is defined the concept of technological gap between the elements of the transport and logistics infrastructure in supply chains, and the level of technological gap is pre-assessed. The paper contains curious evidences of logistics costs structuring and analysis in the industrial aspect.
The Post-Graduate Student of the Department of Supply Chain Management at the HSE, Consultant in Columbus Russia & CIS Anastasia Novikova offers a work on the topic “Integrated planning in supply chains, vertically integrated mining companies”. The article presents approaches to the development of managerial strategy based on the vertical integration. The experience of the implementation and the effective methods for solving problems of integrated planning of vertically integrated mining companies are proposed. We would like to specify that the subject of the research – supply chain management of gold mining industry – is the rare event.
The employees of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the HSE campus in St. Petersburg, Dr.sc.oec., Professor Svetlana Borodulina and Ph.D. in Economics, Assistant Professor Vadim Sokolov, provide the results of research on the composition of logistics costs for such participants in the supply chain as the ocean carriers, warehouses, freight forwarders, road carriers in their article “Costs classification at creation of logistic chains of delivery”. To optimize the cost it is proposed classification which divides costs onto general and individual ones, as well it is suggested a specific grouping of costs for each participant within selected supply chain. In general, the work carried out demonstrates the importance of logistics costs classification and confirms the opportunities and effectiveness of savings retrieval as the direction of future research.
Lectures of the Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics at the Ufa State Aviation Technical University Doctor in Engineering, Professor A. Valeyeva, Ph.D. in Engineering, Associate Professor R. Valeev, Ph.D. in Engineering, Associate Professor T. Tarasova and E. Gazizova presents the article “On the problem of uniform product delivery to various customers with the solution of inventory management, routing and storage problems” in the hot section of our magazine “Inventory management in supply chains”. The paper provides a mathematical model and a common approach of satisfying the task mentioned above. The proposal of the authors is particularly noted to combine various models of this problem – deterministic, probabilistic and simulation models – into a single subsystem.
The section “Master Class” in this issue of “Logistics and Supply Chain Management” is devoted to the article of Ph.D. in Economics, Assistant Professor of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies in Logistics at the HSE Yulia Morozova “Multi-agent systems in logistics: analysis of experience and perspectives”. The author believes that these systems can be very effective for planning and management of material flows taking into account dynamically changed market demand for resources. Intelligent agents in the multi-agent systems are software objects that can interact with each other, exchange messages, analyze them and make decisions under conditions of uncertainty and lack of information. One of the peculiarities of the agent is its ability to learn supported by the knowledge data base in the certain field of activity, containing models of decision making and optimization, algorithms of analysis and learning. The article deals with the models, technologies and typical architecture of multi-agent system; it analyzes projects completed and describes the prospects for the development of these systems in logistics.
The section “Green Logistics” is becoming more and more popular. In this issue the section is added by the article of Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies in Logistics at the HSE Vadim Korepina “The relevance of the green logistics concept in Russia and ways its implementation by means of modern information technologies?”. The author advocates the logistics policy should be formed not only on the basis of the economic condition of the company, but also it should consider the broader consequences of company’s activity for society, such as environmental pollution. It is accounted “Green Supply Chains” which integrate environmental aspects into the process of the material flow management at all stages of the product life cycle. The new model of value creation implementing environmental imperatives in the supply chains of the company contains competitive advantages such as higher productivity, better relations with suppliers and customers, innovation and sustainable growth support. development of these systems in logistics.
Such is the content of the magazine dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the International Centre of Training in Logistics at the HSE. We wish longevity and new success to the ICTL at the HSE and all our highly-esteemed readers! en logistics concept in Russia and ways its implementation by means of modern information technologies?”.
